Classes Offered

At Fit Mind and Body with Sheri, YOU have the choice of fitness classes based on your own level. This is where the customization of your experience begins!  Whether you are new to the idea of working out, have been a dedicated gym member for years, or have already fallen in love with Pilates there is a class suited to you.  All classes focus on functional fitness. Once you join a class, be prepared to receive cues geared specifically to you to help you get the most out of your workout and to reduce unnecessary muscle strain.

All group classes are offered on-line through ZOOM - this is a very user friendly platform that does not require one to be computer savvy. I teach classes internationally as a result of the ease of ZOOM - and you never have to miss a class even when on vacation, when suffering a cold, or when there is a snow storm. On-line classes are taught by a LIVE instructor who is constantly observing, analyzing and responding to your movements. It is a totally different experience than using a workout video - you are SEEN and offered encouragement and unique modifications for your needs. I guarantee you'll appreciate the difference.

Private sessions are conducted on-line or in people's homes. These classes are uniquely tailored to your specific needs based on your strengths, postural challenges, muscle imbalances, etc.  

Price:  Mat Classes are $16.50; Total Barre Classes are $8.50 for each 30 minute session
Payment (through e-transfer) and registration is required 24 hours in advance

Beginner Level Mat Class

This beginner level class is suitable to all fitness levels, teaches clients the basic principles of Stott Pilates and promotes strength development, particularly of the core stabilizing muscles. Individual attention will enable customized programs within the class to best suit different client needs based on postural issues, muscle strengths and weaknesses, etc.  Many students of Pilates notice differences in their mood, flexibility and level of strength when participating in at least one class weekly. This class is an excellent option if you are new to fitness, have some diagnosed with physical limitations or if you wish to work up to more challenging classes. The pace of this class is less demanding than the Advanced Beginner Level classes.

Thursdays: 9:30 to 10:25 a.m.


Advanced Beginner Level Mat Class 


This class is designed for clients who are familiar with Stott Pilates, have completed a number of Beginner Level classes and have developed some strength and endurance. The pace of this class is faster than the Beginner Level Class and the movements are more challenging. Instructions for basic movements will be offered - then once these are mastered, additional challenges are offered allowing all participants to work at their own level.

Sundays: 9:30 to 10:25 am

Wednesdays: 4:30 to 5:25 pm

Intermediate level Mat class

Total Barre: Abs & Arms

Strong Woman
This class is the most challenging and is ideal for fitness enthusiasts who have a good foundation in Stott Pilates (i.e. familiar with the five basic principles: breathing, pelvic placement, ribcage placement, scapula placement and head and cervical placement) and have developed some strength, endurance and body awareness through previous classes.  To customize the workout to individuals within the class, small pieces of equipment will be used to ensure optimal postural and movement patterns. Proper muscle activation and strength development (particularly core and stabilizer muscles) are the primary goals of this class but the work out frequently contributes to a sense of power, accomplishment and improved mood. 

Sundays: 10:45 to 11:40 a.m. 

Tuesdays: 10:45 to 11:40 a.m. 

Wednesdays:  5:45 to 6:40 p.m.

Thursdays:  10:45 to 11:40 a.m.               

This class puts movement to music!  It is a 30 minute, high energy session using light hand weights and a mini stability ball. Instead of a "barre", participants use a stool, counter, chair or wall to help them to stabilize. This class relies on clients' familiarity with Stott Pilates principles in order for movements to be conducted safely and clients are advised to have completed at least a few Beginner Level Mat classes before joining this class. This segment focuses on strengthening and toning the arms and abdominal muscles in particular.  This is a fabulous class to boost your energy in the morning!

Wednesdays: 7:30 am to 8:00 am or 8:00 to 8:30 (order changes weekly)

Total Barre: Butts & Balance


This class also puts movement to music! It is a 30 minute, high energy session using a long flex band and an infinity (looped) band (household items can be used as substitutes for these). We use the wall, a stool, a desk or a countertop to help us stabilize. Familiarity with basic Stott Pilates principles is advised in order to move safely and efficiently. This segment focuses on developing strength and endurance in the glutes and legs and to improve balance. This class flies by and leaves participants feeling energized and ready to take on the day.
